Very well. Throughout my half a century of poetry, you best believe I have seen, heard, written, sung and thought many things, events, and people.

Were I not strapped with worries of finances or cast size or set mechanics, I would certainly write, direct, and score a play of the grandest adventures!

There is nothing more essential than the form of the adventure. It allows one to truly challenge characters, explore themes of trials, development, human and nonhuman relationships, it is like a canvas on which you can paint any painting.

Have not the ancient plays talked of adventure? The Odyssey? Dante's journey?

My adventure would be one that deviates from the usual journey with a set end point. That has been done enough times.

It would be the journey of just two people.

These two people are the only two people! For you see, the world is coming to and end. Not just our world, but all the spheres. What the scholars in Oxenfurt call the Universum.

There are theories that this Universum will one day meet its end. And I very much doubt the people of our Sphere will explore it all until then. So imagine, if you will...

A lone human is sitting in a floating bastion in the vast nothingness. The last human. The last living creature, in fact, for she has been tasked with documenting the end of everything, being the last child to be born into a soon-to-be nonexistent existence.

Our kinds, the elves, the monsters, the dwarves, reached a unison at some point, and have explored all there is to see for us. But what there is for us has only been half of the Universum.

And as she sits in that floating bastion, one could call it a station for a guard, in the reaches of space, a space station (ah! I need to claim that word for my own!), contemplating the fruitlessness of our journey to find new friends in the empty, dead worlds we've seen...

Another station emerges! From that vast nothingness that was never explored, that other half of the Universum that our kinds never had the chance to see!

Extatic, the human opens her gates for this station, expecting the company of a vast civilization...

But to her dismay, only one lone creature emerges. One that looks not much like her, yet she still senses the same disappointment in its eyes...

And in this moment, both of them, unable to understand each other, understand each other completely. They have both explored one half of the Universum.

And there is nothing left to explore. There are no more destinations. All is about to end, and there are only two living creatures to witness it happen.

Where can a journey go when all has been explored? Inwards! For this would be a journey of interpersonality, a trek through the stars, floating aimlessly, floating in the abyss, singing the songs of that which is lost, praying for the air that is thinning, caressing the concepts that are about to wink out.

Yennefer used to say, "Something ends, something begins". But in this play, there would be no beginning after the end. And this is not something audiences are often tasked with contemplating!

It would be revolutionary! A tale of melancholy, even depression, yet as long as there are at least two characters, there is always hope, happiness, and even love!

The complex themes would blow the fragile minds of the public. And they would certainly write my name down in history.

It's only by the dives and triumphs of those involved that a story that it can go beyond the medium and into the hearts of our dear audience.

So to answer your question, of my "ideal play," the truth is...

I could never imagine it!

It's only the driving and colliding forces of our characters that will emerge a brilliant narrative.

I want them all to reach their potential. I want to see them ALL brought to their limits! To bring them to their best!

A musicians hand is tuned finely to the playing of strings, not the pulling of them.
